Getting started

What is Munasib?

Munasib is a matrimonial app for people who are looking for marriage, not casual dating. You build a profile, see people who match your preferences, send an interest, and talk only once both of you are interested.

Who can join?

Anyone who is at least 18 years old and legally eligible to marry. The app asks for your date of birth when you sign up and will not accept a date that makes you younger than 18.

Is Munasib free?

Yes. You can download it and use it for free. If we ever add an optional paid feature, it will be shown clearly before you buy it, and subscriptions are handled by Google Play or the App Store, so we never see your card details.

How do I sign up?

Open the app and choose Sign up. You can use an email address and password, or continue with Google. After you verify your email, the app asks for your name, gender, date of birth and city, and then walks you through the rest of your profile. You can skip sections and finish them later from Profile → Edit profile.

Which languages does the app support?

English and Urdu. The app follows your phone's language setting.

Profiles and photos

How do I get more out of my profile?

Fill in every section, add at least three photos, and write a few sentences about yourself. The Profile tab shows specific suggestions, such as adding photos or a profession, with one tap to the right screen.

Who can see my photos?

You choose for each photo. A photo can be public, blurred, or visible on request. A request-to-view photo is hidden from everyone until you approve the person who asked, and you can hide it again at any time.

What does the Selfie verified badge mean?

It means the photos on the profile were checked against a live selfie, so people know the pictures are of you. It is optional. To verify, the app takes a few quick photos with the front camera while you follow on-screen prompts. The check runs on our servers and does not use any outside face-recognition service. Face templates are used only for verification and are deleted with your photos or your account.

Why did my photo upload fail?

Profile photos must show exactly one face, because they are what selfie verification compares against. The app checks this on your phone before uploading. Use a clear, well-lit photo of just you.

Can I change or remove my profile information?

Yes. Open Profile → Edit profile to change any section, and Profile → Manage photos to add, reorder, hide or remove photos.

Finding and connecting with people

How does Discover work?

Discover shows members who match your age range and city preferences. Set them in Partner preferences. You can narrow the list with filters and save profiles to look at again later.

What does “What you have in common” mean?

On a profile, we list real overlaps between you and the other person, for example that you are both in Lahore or both value honesty. It is plain wording, with no score or percentage. A blank answer never counts as agreement.

How do interests and matches work?

Send an interest from someone's profile. If they accept, you become a match and a chat opens under Matches. If they decline, the interest ends. If you decline an interest you received by mistake, tap Undo right after.

Are there limits on how many interests I can send?

Yes. Daily limits keep Munasib about serious intent rather than endless swiping. You'll see a message in the app when you reach one.

What is the Interests tab?

Interests you have received appear there with Accept and Decline buttons, and interests you have sent show their status. You also get a daily summary notification if you want one, and a nudge if interests are waiting.

Can I see who viewed my profile?

Yes, under Profile → Who viewed you.

Chat and safety

Why can't I send a phone number or social handle in chat?

To keep you safe, messages are screened for phone numbers, email addresses and social media handles before they are delivered. Once you know someone better, you can share contact details another way, outside the app.

How do I block or report someone?

Open their profile or the chat menu and choose Report or Block. A blocked person can no longer see or contact you, and you can no longer see them. Reports go straight to our moderation team.

What do you do about fake profiles and abuse?

We remove content, suspend accounts, and ban repeat or serious offenders. See our Child Safety Standards for how we treat any content involving minors.

Is my information shown to other members?

Other members see your profile: name, age, city, photos you've made visible, and the details you've filled in. Your email and phone number are never shown to other members. See the Privacy Policy for everything we collect and why.

Family and guardians

What is a guardian?

A guardian, such as a parent or wali, can see the interests you receive and share their view, so you can decide together. They can't accept or decline for you. You choose who to invite, and you can remove them at any time.

How does my guardian join?

Go to Profile → Family & guardians → Invite a guardian. The app gives you a short code to share. Your guardian signs up using "Joining as a guardian? Start here" and enters the code under Family & guardians. A guardian account has no profile and does not appear to anyone.

Can my guardian also look for a match?

Yes. A guardian can choose "I also want to find a match" to turn their account into a regular account with its own profile. This can't be undone.

Notifications

Can I choose what notifications I get?

Yes. Go to Profile → Notifications. You can turn on or off interests, matches, messages, photo requests, family and guardian updates, and the daily digest. You can also set quiet hours, during which no notification sounds or buzzes. Everything still appears inside the app.

I'm not getting notifications.

Check that notifications are allowed for Munasib in your phone's settings, that the category isn't switched off under Profile → Notifications, and that quiet hours aren't active.

Account and privacy

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile → Delete my account and confirm. Your account is deactivated immediately and your data is permanently deleted 30 days later. If you change your mind, sign back in during those 30 days and tap Keep my account. See Account Deletion for exactly what is deleted and what is kept.

I forgot my password.

On the login screen, choose Forgot password? and enter your email. We'll send you a link to reset it.

How do I contact you?

Email support@munasib.org. For safety concerns, use the Report button inside the app or email safety@munasib.org; for data requests, email privacy@munasib.org. We aim to reply within 2–3 business days.
